The beginning of any journey tends to cement the path for the future.
For me it began with absolutely no knowledge of the Dobermann breed whatsoever.

I was captivated by the elegance and power of the Dobe, the thoroughbred-like qualities, which appealed to my equestrian side. This admiration became reality in 1989 when I decided I had to have one.

Her name was Bailey, she was eight weeks old, had no pedigree whatsoever and cost a mere $50. But she was all Dobe and the beginning of a great love affair with the breed.

Her kind nature endeared her to all and she was granny to a number of kittens over the years. She came with me everywhere in the car - sitting proudly on the front passenger seat of my Mini with her nose pressed hard against the windscreen for a closer view of the sights. Getting her to sit in the back was an impossibilty.

Bailey is no longer with us but her memory remains - she was an awesome friend!
